Of course, they use all of these various ways to get Diavs onto television. However, Trish, Lita, Chyna, Victoria, Jillian, and Melina all had wrestling backgrounds and training, regardless for how few months. Lena Yada might be good. But, she shouldn't be collecting a WWE paycheck currently and taking up a roster spot while training. She should be in developmental until she is ready to actually warrant having a spot. Same for Eve Torres. Also, the same for Tiffany, Alicia Fox. They can have the roles to get started. But, they should be able to actually warrant having a main roster spot first. The business is called wrestling and, dag nab it, I think they should know how to wrestle when working in it.

As for Funaki, Funaki getting people over is the same as Snitsky. Only, Snitsky has won some matches in his career and had a big PPV feud once, something Funaki never had. Funaki is a jobber in a jobber's body with the charisma of Moo Shoo Pork. He is a waste of space and sooooooo 2000. Indeed. His job is all about affirmative action because he is one of a few Asian minorities. I have said that for years. If Tajiri was still under contract and had not retired, Funaki would have been on a slow boat back to Tokyo years ago. He is good for nothing, in my opinion. At least with Snitsky, who I also said should have been fired, you have him job and the people who win have the "I beat a monsterous guy" rub going for them. That is far better than the "I beat a noodle chef" rub that comes with beating Funaki.

Got to agree with you on that. I mean doesn't Jimmy Yang Wang job as much as Funaki? So what the hell is the point to Funaki?

Eve and Lena have not even ben around long enough to be established as anything. I'd give them a year and if they have not gone anywhere then give them the boot.

Lena is training to move from interviewer to wrestler. Maria did interviews and wrestled at the same time for awhile. Not every Diva comes straight in as a wrestler. Look at Jillian with JBL and she can wrestle. The backstage interviewer and wedding planner and GM assistant is just a way of introducing them to us before they are ready to wrestle. I'd rather them have roles like that at first instead of pulling a Gayda all the time. Eve has had some matches already off of tv and she looks promising.

Look at other Divas who did not wrestle at first, Trish, Lita, Chyna, Victoria, Jillian, Melina, Michelle McDrool, Maria and Kelly. Pretty much evey Diva, 90% do not come straight in as wrestlers. Not all have been good wrestlers but having them on tv in a non wrestling role is a common thing to do. If they do not really know how to wrestlin I would rather see them in a non wrestling role, I don't see what that hurts.

I am just giving a different point of view and something o think about. No too people will ever agree 100% on who is hired/fired in wrestling and there is nothing wrong with that. I am more of the type of fane who says be patient, give them time and see what they turn into before saying they are worthles and should go now when they have not been given a chance yet.

I don't mind Funaki either really. He is barely used but there is a place for fuys like him in wrestling. Somebody has to loose or we will never have winners. It sems like ost wrestling fans think that unless everyone all the time is winning they are not used "right". How can you have winners if you don't have loosers. Funaki is a good wrestler, he can take bumps and makes other guys look good. That is his job and he is good at it.

Now a guy like Snitsky is another story. He is a bad wrestler. He is big but looks like crap. A guy his size should not be jobbing to everyone either. He eisther needs to be a monster like Umaga and do something to appear to really be dangerous or go. Looking mean but never acting on it is getting him nowhere.

Maryse has been getting better. That said, it's like saying the smell of garbage has gone from terrible to just bad. She is still worthless and shouldn't be within 25 feet of a ring.

Lena Yada... first of all. Who is she? What does she do? She is a backstage reporter on ECW... but, they never have her doing any interviews. So, what's her point for employment? Also, I hear she is training to wrestle... but, she's going to just train, in order to do what, interview people on ECW? She's the female Funaki... affirmative action strikes again.

Eve Torres won the Diva Search. Since then, she's... yeah, she won the Diva Search. No, they really had one in 2007. I know, it was wonderful not to have to suffer through those God-awful segments with ate away at my brain like dementia. I know, she didn't get pushed like most winners do to an actual spot on TV. Instead, she's still doing now what she did after winning it... absolutely nothing. (Sorry about going into a conversation with myself. I felt like TNA bookers for a minute there.)

I'll take back Maryse being fired for the time being. Eve and Lena... As Tony Kornheiser would say, "They should be put in jail!" They are robbing WWE blind with every paycheck they cash... like Funaki. Sweet Jesus, I will dance the Charleston all the way to Charleston the day he is fired.

damn cherrys gimmick may have sucked but she was hot

Blackmada - 2008-08-16 @ 5:23 am

To be fair Maryse, Eve and Lena are still training. They could end up being good in time. I do think WWE should hold off longer before using these newer Divas until they are more experienced though.

Heck, before their beatdown from Cryme Tyme on Monday, the last time I saw the Highlanders was with their angle with Piper. I feel bad for Stevie. I've liked him since his original ECW days. Worst part is,he'll more than likely wind up with TNA.

Man, the WWE's Summer Cleaning is just... Why in the f*ck does Funaki still have a job?!? It is such a disappointing thing to look online and see good names getting dropped.

- Cherry just needed to move from the 50's era gimmick, which is something she was slowly doing. She was a beautiful woman and had more skills and talent than Maryse, Lena Yeda, or Eve Torres (all of which still have jobs).

- Stevie Richards was a solid worker and I really thought he would be like Val Venis, moving from in-ring into an agent role like Val seems to be on track to do.

- The Highlanders should have been fired even before the TNA incident with one of them. I just never got into them. They didn't impress in the ring or with their promos.

- Colin Delaney should have never had a job to begin with. He was a jobber to the umpteenth degree. Turning him heel did nothing for him either.

I just wonder who else will be good talents released while Funaki, Snitsky, Bob Holly, Maryse, Eve Torres, Lena Yada, and The Boogeyman all collect paychecks. WWE is ran by idiots.

Blackmada - 2008-08-15 @ 11:31 pm

Wes Adams refed the ECW main event this week on ECW. He was very obviously getting info on his earpeice by constantly putting his hand up to his ear and very clearly telling the wrestlers what to do afterwards. I don't think the referees are supposed to make things that obvious during matches.

I think WWE expected Colin to really take off and he never did. I was interested in him up until he got his contract but after that he got boring. It was not really his fault. The heel turn was awkward and did not really work.

I'll miss Stevie. I wanted to see him stay until he could not wrestle and then get another job in WWE.

The Highlanders were fun as a team but were never going to go anywhere. It sucks that another tag team is gone though. Rory has had one personal issue after another causing him to miss alot of ringtime. Plus add injuries both guys had and Robbie going to the TNA show. They had too much against them.

Cherry was ok in the ring but not really good for someone who was in the indies as long as she was. With Deuce and Domino splitting her gimmick was not going to work anymore and she just did not have the talent or looks to do much. He got lucky getting the gimmick that she did because it worked for her. It would have been nice to see her get another chance though. At 33 years old maybe WWE felt she was too old to give her another try.
