I dont mind them being more muscular and all that. I just dont want Adam to be the same size as Whiplash just because the classic figures shared the same body.

I've developed another concern about this line.

Mattel is still struggling with distribution on the DCUC line, so that doesn't bode well for MOTUC. I have almost no faith they can satisfy the demand for their figures (and that's not even taking into account their self-imposed removal of figures like The Dark Knight Movie Masters line). There's DCUC Wave 1 available, but DCUC Wave 2 (which is more popular than Wave 1) has technically been out for months, yet you can't find them on the shelves.

Part of the problem is Wal-mart not taking them on yet because of the DC Superheroes line that didn't move. But that should remain a problem for MOTUC because of the situation from the 2002 MOTU line (terrible case assortments that didn't move, either) that I'm sure Wal-mart hasn't forgotten.

I take the comparison to DCUC to mean that yes, they'll be the same 'height', but the Masters will be a whole lot more.... muscular. Which is cool. I'm OK with that. Judging by this King Grayskull guy (sorry - not familiar with that episode), that would seem to be the case. He looks at first glance to be a whole lot more 'Shaq-Diesel' than, say, Superman or Batman. That's my take on it anyway.

Sounds good, seems like they've done some real research into what fans want. I'm starting to get very tempted by this line...

Right. They said at the NYCC panel that characters that only appeared in the cartoon and no where else can't be made. Everything else, which is most everyone, can be made.

If they were created for the original show from the 80's and never in anything again after that. If someone was in the old show and showed up later in a newer show and I guess a comic book they can be made but someone like Star Child can not be made.

So characters in the old heman show ONLY wont be made. Did I read that right?

Sounds good to me. Certainly much more info than most toy companies give to the fans.

Anyhow, I like what I'm hearing: I like the size, the reuse of parts to make figures (like the originals) and the classic remaking of old weapons. It sounds like a nice, easy homage to the old stuff without getting my hopes too high about the 2002 line making any sort of comeback (though it does sound like it's a possibility in terms of certain characters). I'm looking forward to what we get! The original figures were campy and goofy lookin', so that's exactily what I'm expecting to get! It should be a fun ride, no matter how long it lasts.

They are saying that the MOTU guys might not fit in with the DCUC because the scales of those two lines might not match up. The two lines might not match up in collectors eyes.

They are not saying that one MOTU character will not be in the right scale with another different sized character.

The 6 inch scale is just the averagage size they use to describe the scale. Like how Star Wars is 3 3/4" but there are alot of figures bigger and smaller but most are right around 3 3/4 so they go with that. The majority of the MOTU line will be 6 inches not every figure they make.

What worries me is the line that says for the most part the figures will be six inches. I am worried that the figures will not be in scale. I hope this isnt the case.

That was my main worry, too. I think scale is as important as anything, and more important than things like articulation. If they're all the same size, it loses a lot of "cool" factor for me. But since Mattel does the DCUC line, and they're not all the same size, hopefully that's how they''ll approach the MOTUC line, too.

I am still worried though. The 4HM just did an interview at a webiste called (link)

The had this to say about the scale of the line

"As for size, theyll be close in scale with DC Universe Classics, but the proportions of the characters will be so different that were not sure that theyll fit all that well together in some collectors eyes."
