Looks SWEET! A little lacking on the paint detail, but if it really bothers me I can fix that myself. I applaud Hasbro for swapping out the accessories, and even better, for not just casting the Red Ninja or V1 SS in blue and calling a day. The hood doesn't make it just like the original, but it also ensures that it's not just like all the others we already have.

I'm still a bit annoyed that it's not a Ninja Force SS... but pick your battles, you know?

Update: I didn't think this deserved it's own thread, but turns out Wave 12 isn't going to give us yet another Stormshadow but a somewhat retro army builder. Anybody remember the old early '90s mail-away forms that sold a blue Stormy and called him the Ninja Viper (if memory serves you could also send for a Quick Kick and Jinx 2-pack as well)? Looks like he's back to chuck shuriken at TFU Starduster! See for yourselves here.

I would army build a couple of them. Bring em' on I say!

I am all for GI Joe being around for another 25 years but I don't even want to think about how old I'll be in 25 years.

I am all for each of us having our own opinions but what gets to me is when people start going on about how dumb Hasbro is for making something stupid when there are plenty of people who think the stuff is not stupid. How is it dumb to make something that is wanted. I just like to remind others that they need to look at the bigger picture and not just theirs. Even I do not like everything or get everything but I respect that others might want what I don't. Alot of this complainong I think still comes from that old worry that this is the end forever and some figures are going to be left out and never be made and instead worthless repaints are on the way.

I'm not worried at all. I think the line will continue and get bigger. It looks like it is more successful than JVC ever was. Before stores stopped carrying the line and now more and more shelf space is being given to this one. I think there are more of us that like this line than there are that do not. It was more of the other way around with JVC.

I agree with you. I do not think in anyway GI JOE will go anywhere... It is here to stay but the worried about what the image will look like in a few years is somewhat scary. I like the opinions of everyone of this forum agree or disagree. It shows that they have a passion, love it or hate it. Let me ask you ... what would make it more Love than dislike? Your feedback is very helpful.

I would not change much.

One thing I would rather see is entire waves just for animated style figures. Like the Cobra Flint and cartoon Ripper. Keep every four waves repaint waves for guys like TF, PP and things like that and have maybe every second wave be just for the cartoon. That would leave the other two, first and third waves for new sculpts, new characters or mostly new sculpts.

The other change would be stop putting army builders in the two packs. The IG could easily go into the every four wave repaint wave since it was made mostly or reused parts.

Other than that I'd like to see wiser body part choices in the future. Falcon and Leatherneck could have been better than they are. They showed they can do Major Bludd better but get them better from the start from now on.

Hey Blackmada,

You bring up some very valid points. Thanks for giving me another prospective to contemplate. It is very hard to separate personal feelings from hard factual truths when you care about something like many of us do.

What I am saying is that tooling are not expensive- 22,000.00 for a fully articulated figure (same as old school joes) and still We make repaints? Really... it does not cost that much to produce the figures. In all fairness, If ppl knew half of the numbers they would feel kinda of ripped off.

Actually, those kind of numbers are available to anyone willing to put a little effort into finding them. I've found them for many of the products I buy. I don't feel ripped off. It's called 'capitalism in action'. It's not the best system, but it's the one we've got, and it's the one I support, largely by buying things at several hundred times markup of the manufacturing cost with my hard-earned money.

Lets just say some ppl are just sheep and follow, while others try to make a diffrence. Hopefully whoever is the one who is talking about ppl complaining and WAHHHHing if a follower. The reson why we like the new figures is because they are New ...not repaints.

Actually, there are plenty of repaints I like. I accepted a long time ago that the line was making roughly 75% of the figures out of reused molds and repaints. To a large extent, I'm okay with that. Yeah, sure, of course I'd like it to be different, but even with things the way they are, I've bought tons of figures that I wanted and enjoy. The ones I didn't, I left for someone else. If accepting the faults of the line and buying the figures I want makes me a sheep, then BAA!

And by the way it takes time to develope even repaints, This has been planed for a year now..trust me. Get a Job at Hasbro and then tell me its because they listen to anyone? lol Silly rabbit tricks are for kids and repaints are for sheep.

Well, I'd be quite upset to find out that they just threw this wave together last week, repaints or no. It's not even a terrible lineup, all things considered. Every figure I'm not interested in, someone else has shown interest in, and vice-versa. The only people who are really, truly upset about things like this are those who slavishly buy every figure of every wave, and while I'm sure Hasbro would like all the collectors to be like that, I seriously doubt they put the waves together with that in mind.

LOL This not to say that proper colors on repaints are bad. Its to say that other than the fact the Artic snowserpant pack will not sell as well now with ppl knowing that the Scarp Iron is coming out in the two pack. That is a fact.

Actually, we knew there was a regular Scrap-Iron coming, because someone asked about it when the Arctic set was revealed, and Hasbro told them. It was discussed in the threads about the Arctic set, among other places. So pretty much everyone who's been ordering the set has been doing so knowing full well that there was another SI on the way. Has that affected sales? Possibly, but it's really hard to tell since there's no control/variable to compare here. Personally, I find it hard to believe that one figure in a seven-figure set really made or broke it for anyone. The six troop builders in that set couldn't have anything to do with the reason people are buying it anyway, I'm sure...

So you know Im on the up about what I am talking about.

No I don't. I see you spouting a bunch of nonsense, like you normally do. If making a nonsensical rant is proof of you being 'on the up', then yeah, rock on. I never realized the standards were so low.

Wait till you see Golobulus...Hes sweet but will he be a repaint??? lol Pythona is sweet as well.... Little bit of info.

Sure it is. Like anyone who is paying any attention at all couldn't guess that with one Cobra-La out there, we might get a few more. And given that it's a short list of three possible characters...

M.A.S.K. figures 3 3/4 as well sweet but repaints as well....

GOOD. I've been saying they should go that route since they first mentioned doing Matt Trakker. Hasbro has a few decades worth of Joe molds gathering moss, and I fully support using them to make a new MASK line. With the increased size and articulation over the old MASK figures, there's a lot more they can do with the vehicles. Heck, there's a few Joe vehicles that could be a part of the line with little to no work put in. Even better, any original vehicles (it is, at it's heart, a vehicle-based line) will be bigger than the originals. These thoughts make me all kinds of happy.

I am trying to say something which is that ppl who work in the industry like what they do but hate to see the product detroyed by ppl who do not collect.

I would love for you to tell me where you even TRIED to say that.

I already ordered two arctic packs, primarily for the Snow Serpents so whatever you are basing your facts off of seems to just be your opinion and not the opinion of everyone. I don't recall many people saying they were getting that just because of Scra Iron. We already knew a more accurate one was on the way in a comic pack when we saw that one.

How dare you question him, you sheep! He knows what you want! He knows how Hasbro works! He is on the up! He's IN THE INDUSTRY!

CaptainTriumph - 2008-08-30 @ 11:35 am

Actually I'm not a sheep. I'm more like a oyster thats being "shucked".
